Sharon Eubank, Dave McMillan, and several members from Israel, Jordan, and Egypt shared current news from their branches. Sharon shared a new humanitarian video that will soon be posted to Mormon.org. Dave told us about the new buildings in Amman and Abu Dabi with a PowerPoint presentation.
It was so fun to be there and feel a part of the great work that goes on today all over the world. By-the-way, Sharon is the Church Global Director of Humanitarian Services. She is so energized, warm and dynamic in her role as well as a best friend. Dave continues to serve as the Middle East DTA and executive secretary to the Presiding Bishop. He and his wife were in Jordan and Iraq a few months ago. The building in Amman is a miracle... after petitioning the government for years to purchase a building, they finally said yes. It took him 30 days to get Church approval and move forward with the construction of an LDS Charities office and chapel in a new office building. It is on the second floor and is beautiful. It also has an apartment for a couple. The trip to Iraq was to meet with the couple that facilitated authorization/recognition of the Church there. The Church recently assisted in providing food for a half-million Iraqi refugees for a week.

Meeting, greeting and presentations done... time to eat!
Great food, friends and memories of the work to share. The humanitarian work goes on all over the world. New partnerships and friendships have been made and continue to develop to facilitate helping the poor and needy all over the world.
A special, thank you, to Sharon and her intern, Lindsay McEwing. It was so comforting to be together again as servants of the Lord and share our joys together.
